lag, ping spikes issue

How many out there are having this same problem?


I figured I would register to let someone know. It's ping spiking again, went from 80? to 130.

- I use google's dns btw.
- It isn't just me having this problem.
- It was just the dodgeball server, all the other servers in favorites were fine.

Any issues with ping spikes on the rest of our servers?
What's your general location and ISP?

I've tried playing now and again since the start of this thread. Have yet to see a big of a spike as the one that happened that day, it lasted for awhile. The only ones I come across now last only a second or two.

More traces would be nice, the more statistical samples the better.

In that trace you're getting high latency to one of the firewall hops, but your end-to-end latency looks to be normal (~78ms) given your distance to the server. It could just be that ping packets are prioritized lower on that 16th hop. Additionally, the ping displayed on the server browser isn't always as accurate as your actual latency. For a more accurate result you'd want to connect to the server and run the `ping` console command and check the ping you're getting.

However, I've gone and tweaked some settings anyway that should route your packets around that server in the future. Let me know if this helps at all.
