Voidy already made a post about this and this was planned. All play times for every single Saxton Hell player has been reset to make things more fair for the new players.

Valve doesn't reset the badge time for the year you joined. People who aren't on the list probably don't care about being on it because it's nothing but play time, it's not like this site is traffic central either. It just took away from the people who where with saxtonhell since the beginning because "waaah I'm not on the list because I don't play a lot"
What was the thinking behind this? Where there actually a large number of people that complained that they weren't on a TOP 300 LIST?

The thinking was "The top players list is getting pretty stale, why not reset it after 2 years".

If the regulars truly played as much as they normally do then they have nothing to worry about. Also the playtime reset filters all the old people who retired from playing the server.

The top 5 players on the list hadn't played on the servers in over a month. Why do you people care about numbers so much.

Still isnt really cool. You're just being the devil's advocate.
And I liked bragging that I had over 40 days on one server. There's really no point getting the old people out anyways, something that holds records should not be reset.
It's like reseting the Olympic records because some of them were made 30 years ago

I care... I look at the regular list regularly. Thanks to the reset I have jumped from spot 206 to the top 100. I remember when I started out somewhere at 110000.

We keep backups so nothing is ever truly lost.

I'll agree with this, but there aren't many good choices for performing a reset.
It's mostly due to how our playtime tracking was originally designed. As it was one of our first stat tracking systems, I didn't really have the foresight to think of any cases where we'd want to reset current playtimes but still keep them available. Our dodgeball ranking system (http://stats.saxtonhell.com/Dodgeball/View?season=3&year=2013) was designed considerably better, by splitting records into "seasons" so that rankings can always get refreshed but you can always look back to an older season to see who was best back then.
Something like this and per-server playtime tracking is a wishlist feature for us.

It's only been 4 days since this started. Not my definition of old.
Also, I don't think the hamshank eyelander will be happening. Why not just use the taunt crits on the flame thrower?

even then it sucks. The only good way to do damage as a pyro is to goomba, and I challange you to do otherwise

Pyro is a utility class, don't expect damage outside of goombas.
If topping the scoreboard every round is your aim, play one of the damage classes such as soldier, heavy, and demo.
