How are players getting the first platform stuck? I wasn't able to reproduce it by simply standing on it.
The same way you stop any moving platform. Two people stand in the same spot on it.
I wasn't there for that particular instance, but what likely happened in that demo was the trap had just been activated and the Scout jumping onto it with the Heavy is what made it stuck.

It happens when two players are in contact and standing on it. This happens on a few other maps as well.

The elevators on cocainum, the moving platforms on dlux... I'll list more as I find/remember them.


Knucklejoe is correct mostly. Here is a more detailed version of this problem.

Whenever a player is standing on a moving platform and another players hitbox comes in contact with the player on the platform, the platform stops moving.

This is the cause of several glitchs. vsh_dr_cocainum_v2_1_xmas- usually there would be around 2 to 4 people jumping onto one elevator. This causes the elevator to stop. A major target of mine is the other map stated by Knucklejoe.

vsh_dr_dlux_tf2_v5- This is a problem. Most of the times when players come in contact with the moving platforms on this map the platforms glitch and the way they move is drastically altered. This makes it significantly harder to traverse this obstacle.

Description- So These first three traps are kinda weird. On the very first platform there would be a person who would go into a high-five stance and causing the first platform to get stuck. People who would jump onto the platform would just get flung off.
The other two platforms are a personal favorite exploit of mine. I would jump onto the second or third platform and go into a high five stance. When the hale activates the trap I would start spinning continuously. Players would also get forced off the platform. This glitch can continue indefinitely. (Sorry I don't have a screenshot for the next two platforms. I didn't think it would matter anyways because all platforms needs a display of motion for me to report it properly)
Consideration- low
Suggestion(s)- Disable taunting?

Players who jump on the second and third platform while someone was on it while spinning would cause it to stop spinning until one person jumps off. When this happens it may cause the platform to spin indefinitely.

I will make a post about the areas that need attention related to player collision later.

Right, now I remember how that works.

Unfortunately I don't know of a server-wide solution that will work for all maps. Dealing with player collision and vphysics is a huge nightmare in the source engine.

If you're going to report someone, make sure to follow these steps!
  • Record a demo.
  • Get the person's steamid.
  • Add an Admin and annoy him/her about it.
  • Click your heels and yell out "Ding Dong Bannu!"This probably won't work, though.
Don't like a map? Use the !maprate command to give it a bad rating, and then maybe Voided will take it off the rotation. Maybe.

Dislike saysounds? Use !sounds to disable them!

Don't enjoy tf2? I don't have a solution for that. :(

I'd like to counter kevin's accusation. First off, he was the one who started the platform trolling. I did it one time, and then he starts to rage at me.

If you want to report someone, you have to provide their steamid and evidence (demo, screenshots, etc)
if you don't know how to get someone's steamid, go into the console, type "status" and find their name. their id will be right next to their name.
