Anyone know how to fix a Steam overlay problem?

Alright, I got this weird problem with Steam overlay at the moment. This morning, when I was trying to quit Steam overlay because it wasn't responding, it wouldn't close. I then restarted my computer and now whenever I open a game, it will never start up the overlay. It doesn't even appear in the Task Manager. Has anyone else had experience with this kind of problem?

You can just go to SPUF and ask those nerds about it. Otherwise, just send steam a ticket about it.
I'd personally recommend re-downloading Steam, but that's a shot in the dark.
