Accepting crypto currency as donation
« on: May 14, 2014, 07:58:46 am »
I mine dogecoin all day it would be cool for that to be able to use as a saxton hell donation, keys can be accpeted as a donation i don't see why dogecoin or other crypto currency can't be accpted.

Well unless you've got like 11k DOGE sitting around...

The problem with crypto currencies is that we don't, and likely won't, have any automated payment systems based around them. I feel that they're simply not mature enough for handling payments.

Following that, I'd probably accept manual donations in cryptos if it was in a currency that is actually fairly liquid, such as BTC. I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of first trading DOGE to BTC and then selling the BTC to finally get USD.

Auctally i do have 6k sitting around and could have 11k in a few days and i could convert that BTC. About the auto payments i don't think they would work any way beacuse depending i could have the BTC or not and yeah auto payments can get interesting
