The location doesn't matter as much as the server's lines/cables. The old server host was having problems and failed to address them.

One admin is several hundred miles further away from the servers after the move but still has a ping of 40. It all depends on if there's a fiber optic line by you or some other high speed line

It's mostly due to the servers moving and several other games coming out around this time of year. It's no big deal and will probably rebound in the next month or two.

RTD is awful for any gamemode where there is any competition. Some players just want to play the game without any gimmicks, and rtd tends to be obnoxious and impossible to ignore.
