This thread will be used to keep track of the maps added and removed from the VSH rotation. This also includes the rotation for FF2, as it shares the same rotation as Saxton Hell #1 & #2.
Feel free to use this thread to discuss the maps and/or suggest new ones.

it wasn't exactly a clan. i will say this however in the name of all the ponies here. it was a series of funservers, and it had ponyspensers on the trade server. doves and noisemakers were spammed for the lulz by donors, and the admins liked mixing things up, within reason of course. it's downfall? the donation system was set up in a way where one only needed to pay once to get donor forever.

It was a decision we made a while ago since back then spotline took up a big chunk of the rotation. I'll look into adding it back in again.

Anyone know how to get the editable versions of these maps? Especially Harvest. I know where to get some of them but not most of the versions saxhell uses. At least not the editable versions..

We tested this map out before, it's poorly made and has bad spawn points for the hale. Not a map worthy of our rotation.

sadly we tried crevice and the admins felt it was too large of a map. castle siege... if they add it in, check to make sure the version has a certain tent exploit fixed, either by deadly jail or by normal means. if not, you have to patch it ASAP through your tools

Castle Siege I'll consider, as it's been a while since I've considered it. Something like that.
My main beef with it is that it's a map that manages to make clients disconnect with snapshot overflows very often, but I'd be willing to give it another try.

seeing as KOTH maps are allowed, i'm suggesting this one here. but i wouldn't recommend it on randomizer (yet) due to some of the flaws talked about in the video. it's also a rather small map from what i can gather in the video.

It's a big map, it can be annoying at times, but it is one of the classic hale maps. We neeedss it. Plus elevator goombas are my jamz son! My jamz!

Most servers I would say yeah it is a problem but the hales we use would do just fine on them I think. Especially with the elevators, the low amount of map health..etc It would probably be a sniper shitstorm map like Kakariko or mannco but those maps seem to be pretty fun too.

All the maps you suggested have been playtested before and it was determined that they're either too large, or don't play well.
Except for vsh_wake_island, which I can't find.

Oh god... not crevice. I have this map on the server where I'm admin, everyone sits next to the launchers that hale has to come up when he falls off. In other words, it's a goomba fest. Very bad for hales who don't know what they're doing or don't know that people are waiting for them to pop up so they can stomp them.

Uh... noob hales can't get better by never coming up from the crevice because of people standing over the launchers. They won't get better from this map, but they don't leave either. You can't jump up from the crevice to the top, making the only ways to get up the launchers. Tell me, how would anyone get better, except at baiting possibly?

There's about 7 or 8 different places where you can launch yourself up top. If they're camping one, go to the other. They like to camp the ones next to the capture point, but people hardly even know of the existence of the one next to spawn, or the one that leads into the small cave at the far end of the map. Plus it's huge, which makes for good super jumping practice.
The game is fun because it's hard. If it were easy, people wouldn't play it. Getting camped a bunch makes you better at combating camping, just like playing against pyros all the time makes you better against pyros, now doesn't it?

Please stop posting map suggestions. You aren't putting any effort into finding and or testing them, and this is ignoring the fact that we have play tested some of these maps before and they're not fit for VSH.
It's not difficult to find maps and your posts are really just wasting our time.

Mentioned it in the other thread, but I wanted to let you guys know that B3 of that map has been out for a bit now and fixes some major issues with B2.

Awesome! Thanks for the update! We had fixed it ourselves by placing some kill zones with a plugin, but the other changes are definitely welcome, especially the train rain timer.

ok let me put it this way i had 16,000 hp fall in pit when i jump out of pit in 3 seconds i have 12,000 for some reason even though it got nerfed
edit i did not get hit by anyone on the rooftop when i was in pit

We've had most of the out-of-map fixes for quite a while, so I'm not sure what the benefit of updating would be.

So is there no possible way to scramble the voting? If people hit the first button closest to their fingures and in this case it is 3....Or at least that is how it is on DR because thats the only server I ever play on :P then we would always go to that map which generally irritates the others who considerably vote...But really if everyone had a different vote on lets say 3 (and I speak for 1-9 on the voting list) then there wouldn't be a "three spam" but at the same time everyone has to have the same 9 maps (again just differentiate the order on everyones voting list as in no two person has the same exact voting list order). This way if everyone on the server really wanted to choose a specific map they would all vote for it considerably. If someone had already asked this already then please ignore this suggestion.

Removed arena_waterworks_b1fix4 from the rotation due to client crashes.

Can we get the halo map removed we made an amp and it was stuck with bolts to repair it and the map just starts to lag out everyone we cant even move 2 feet without going back to the same spot or falling off the ledge, and everyone ping is around 60

vsh_halo_foundation_v1 was not causing the lag, because the lag was hitting all the servers.

That large hallway was awesome. I've talked with a few other players, and we know there should NOT be 4 spotline maps. We agreed that vsh_spotline_reworked should replace vsh_spotline_b8. It would be awesome to bring back that map.

Since Uberawps was removed, thought I'd share something about it. In spectator mode, if you spectated the map, it would take whatever you previously were watching and shine it up. I did manage a really cool screenshot of Travis with this

koth_fissure was causing client crashes for me.
koth_winter_ridge_b2 has missing player clipping near the top of the map as Windy mentioned.
I don't think koth_skylab_rc1 will play very well, and has some places where players can jump up on edges where hale would have difficulty getting to. It also suffers from being a little too complex for VSH.
koth_2fort has some weird respawnroomvisualizers, and the teleporter in Windy's screenshot crashes clients when they take it.
Other than that, koth_tomb_b3 seems pretty good and I tossed it into rotation.

I don't think koth_skylab_rc1 will play very well, and has some places where players can jump up on edges where hale would have difficulty getting to. It also suffers from being a little too complex for VSH.
koth_2fort has some weird respawnroomvisualizers, and the teleporter in Windy's screenshot crashes clients when they take it.
Other than that, koth_tomb_b3 seems pretty good and I tossed it into rotation.

Was on one map in the smash bros where the whole map had motion... my god the lag, no one could fight and you would fall off the ledge and die if you kept moving for too long. It was RTV'd in under a minute by just about everybody.

That's a feature of the original VSH plugin that we removed a long time ago. That said, the maps appear to be identical to me, so I'll go with removing the koth version.

Edit: Looks like it came back up. The only glaring issues I see is the complexity of the spawn areas, and a couple missing textures. Probably worth playtesting it on the server before tossing it in rotation.

EDIT: I tested the map some more and looked at what pickups are on the map, it seems pretty balanced for the gamemode. There's only four small healthkits on the map and around 12 small and medium ammo packs scattered around the map. The map itself is symmetrical, resupply rooms are build-protected, there's some great engineer spots on the roofs by what I have found, the skybox is decently high so soldiers and hale will not bonk their heads on the ceiling of the map, and there's a bit of defensive spots as well for say for say camping as a heavy for example. Get in touch with me either an add at my steam page or here when you playtest. I'd love to have a look at it with the gamemode.

Holy run on sentence batman.
Screencap others saying it's a bad map and it'll probably get removed from the map queue on ff2. Would need more than just one person claiming others say it's a horrible map. Anyways, we need more maps with fewer health/ammo packs or more widespread placement, it makes it more of a challenge than just "oh I'll jump around as a soldier holding g."

Seriously though, map is a bit on the smaller side as far as VSH goes, plus the whole flashing lights thing might give people a headache (also trigger warning for people with epilepsy). But that aside it has potential as a VSH map.

That map isn't applicable to VSH mode, unfortunately. Someone would have to edit the map to support the arena gamemode and add a control point to at least get it functionally working. Even if that was done, though, I don't think the map would be a good fit for VSH. Far too many tunnels/enclosed areas.

If I made the spawn areas accessible by both teams, would that make it suitable? If not, I could just move the spawns to areas around where the spawn door would teleport you to.

Map looks pretty good, definitely good for rocket jumping, has space to run as a demoknight, snipers have a good time, and I'm sure pyros can take advantage of the gap. It also has a few places for engineers to set up without being hard to get to.
