So today I started to play in this little server.  Gosh, I was greeted with death threats and any time I tried to talk, there'd be somebody mic spamming "nope" constantly.  Anything you can do about it?

Screenshots would be nice because right now we have no proof of them saying that. You can use tinypic.com for your converter if you like. Other than that, we can't help you for now.

Too bad I have no idea how to do demo's.

The guy/kid/teenager that was doing the endless "nope" left after awhile anyway.  So it doesn't matter unless he starts to do it again.
