This is an idea I've been mulling about in my head.

Most deathrun servers out there use a timer on maps where a motivator/death wall isn't present. So I've been thinking about implementing this in our version.

But I'd like to get everyone's opinion on it before I do so.

Personally, the only thing I have against the idea is that it may encourage some players to wait until the very last second to finish a run.

A timer would actually be very useful on the server, I'm for it.

I haven't been on any other deathrun severs besides Deathrun hell, what exactly does the timer do? Is it like a motivator/death wall?

It's an analogue for a motivator. Essentially when time runs out, the hale wins. It forces players to actually go through the map instead of sit around.

But would happen to the servers with built-in timer/pusher? IE: dr_aconian

even though i haven't played DR at all as of late, i know from the days from when i did play DR (mostly on GMod) that maps might have varying lengths, so if you do implement it, you are also going to have to tweak it on a map to map basis

The timer would only be for maps which don't have a motivator.

i would say yes but the timer would have to depend on the map something like dulx would need a longer timer

I've been waiting on this for quite a while. Twenty has been chatting to me, "Kevin, they need to add a timer for DR."

For sanity, yes, please add the timer. It's a better motivator (imo) than the death wall/motivator and it'll keep everyone moving.
