When you see em, where do they go in the folders? Or do they go anywhere?
I've always been curious, because of:
1. Hard Drive Space.
2. What nosey people might think.
-
I just put sprays wherever I can.
Just remember where you drop your sprays so you can pull it up when you're prompted to do so.
-
No no...
I mean, the ones other people spray on the walls.
-
[harddrive]\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\materials\temp
-
Other people's sprays are just uploaded onto the server for you to see while they are on said server. As far as I know, they are never downloaded to your computer.
-
/common/Team Fortress 2/tf/materials/vgui/logos is the directory for sprays. note the file must be in .vtf format for gifs.
animated sprays require an editing program to get the individual frames, something like Sony Vegas. There's a program something like VTFConverter (.vtf is the file format for sprays). there's walk-throughs on the internets on how to go about making animated sprays. http://gamebanana.com (http://gamebanana.com) has plenty of tutorials.

If you're talking about your own sprays, you normally place them in the directory Nova mentioned.
As for sprays that get downloaded from other players while on a server: tf/download/user_custom. Every .dat file is a spray.
-
No its tf/material/temp and there are everyone's sprays

That is where sprays are copied to be loaded by the game, but they're originally stored in tf/download/user_custom.

Really nvr knew that

voided is right, i completely forgot about that location.
-
So it would be safe to delete the downloads/user_custom and retrieve 1.35GB of disk space?

yeah it's safe to delete that. it's all custom stuff from clients, such as sprays.
