Off Topic / Six Flags Trip

Alright so a chunk of us (myself, Renda, Shezeu, Exile, and Turtle) decided to take a day off yesterday and visit Six Flags Great America and ride some roller coasters.

This was the result.

Needless to say it was a good way to spend donator money. That's a joke, please don't hurt me.

FortWar Hell / The future of this server

Alright well, I don't think the future of fortwar hell looks that great.

Since valve changed neutral ctf to be the special delivery gamemode (doomsday), it's made the game much harder to play as the intel needs to reset in order to be picked up.

This, coupled with the fact that the server isn't hugely popular like our other ones puts it in a bad place where some other kind of gamemode will replace it. I'll give it a few weeks to see if it becomes any more popular, and then we'll see what happens afterwards.

Just recently (today), I introduced some changes so that the new scout pistol and sniper rifle are given constant crits comparable to the other weapons.

Also with Mia's help I reduced the new scout shotgun to remove the boost entirely so it behaves simply as a shotgun that is more accurate at the expense of doing less damage.

As for future changes, I really want to buff some of the underused weapons like the soldier shotguns and related things. Pretty much if it's underused, I'd want to buff it to make it worth using.

Yea, new scatter gun is a little too fast. It's bad enough when it's just 2 scouts left, now it'll be 2 scouts that travel at light speed.

As for expert mode, I like this idea, but I don't think it's that useful. Most good players already try not to rage, and even then, sometimes there's that one engi nest that you need to rage in order to get rid of.

But I dunno, if enough people want it, sure I think I could make it.

It's definitely an sv_pure issue.

After joining an sv_pure 1 server, the client doesn't clear the whitelist of allowed content and "re-downloads" all of our content again, and then you get to see error models for everything.

The current workaround for this is to restart tf2 after joining a pure server.

You shouldn't need to download a pack, you can just join the server and the current map will download if you don't already have it.

Alright well, the latest TF2 update has knocked out most of our servers. Right now all of our VSH and FF2 servers are down, in addition to Zombie Fortress. What a pain. In addition to that, our tail/cape plugin was knocked out of commission as well, so that will be disabled for the time being.

I'm waiting for the latest SourceMod updates to come around and fix our issues. Fingers crossed that it'll be soon.

In the mean time: zzZZZz.
