PropHunt Hell / Re: Rant Yo Shit Here.

i do that because i am actually the best

Regular here, can confirm. Eskimo is best.

And don't think of it as fixing a prop, think of it as removing spots, then you will see where we're coming from.

*late* I always figured the whole point of hard-to-get spots was that they are hard to get to. If you're really bothered by it, use pyro; I can't think of too many spots that would really require wall-jumping as a Sniper/Heavy/etc. other than the buildings on Cyberpunk, but that map is shit anyways. If you feel the need to get props at hard spots as Sniper get the bow and go crazy, or better yet tell your teammates "there's a prop up there" or "make sure to check up in that room." Sharing is caring!

PropHunt Hell / Re: Implement Prop Rerolling?
« on: November 14, 2013, 09:28:25 pm »
The bad props are in there for a reason, if this is implemented we might as well get rid of every "difficult" prop in every map. Bad props force you to be more creative in finding a hiding place, and if you're found more often as those props, it gives you some practice running as a scout. Just because it makes you work a bit harder doesn't mean you have to complain to the admins, it's part of the goddamn game.

3, real players don't care about ghosting.

Pretty sure they're the ones who do care.

But yeah, I don't think it's necessary to have ghostmode on PH. It does introduce the ghosting element since ghosts can pass through their teammates but not their enemies, i.e. if someone is hiding as a bush their position could be revealed by a blu ghost walking around checking the bushes.

Like luve said, flare doesn't usually instakill unless the prop in question sits there being flamed. If you can be bothered to move and you realize someone found you it's relatively easy to avoid being instaflared in the first place. Besides, pro instakillers know axtinguisher is the way to go.  8)

I think you misread his comment Marshii, he's saying we should have it as long as it doesn't heal.

I second (or third) the big daddy idea, and the intro noise could be 1:51-2:00 in this video

PropHunt Hell / Re: Rank Removal
« on: April 08, 2013, 02:34:27 am »
I personally would advise removing the ranking system from the server. I enjoy the weapon kill tracking as much as anyone else, but stranges do that just as well, and that way it's less about stealing it from someone else and more about getting to the next level. The argument can be made that it would discourage players from spending as much time on the server, but if the only reason you play is to rank up then there are other servers that use the same system. Removing the ranks doesn't have to mean no more competitiveness either - you can still fight for the top of the scoreboard. And if at the end of the day, you just like seeing your name up on the rankings, just head over to GM's site - it's still there.

This was brought up before but lost somewhere in the threads.

Any chance the "Heals Allies" attribute could be removed from the Crusader's Crossbow to allow it into gameplay?

I have also heard a couple people voice this opinion and wouldn't mind having it myself.

I agree with white and ninjaa, except that the dodgeball ranking system might encourage people to teamswitch onto blu to hunt and get more points, while on dodgeball it isn't a problem because both sides get to reflect.

Off Topic / Re: Favorite games?

Too many games to list on the PS2 - namely the Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Monster Rancher series, along with Kingdom Hearts, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, etc.
Fallout 3, Age of Empires/Mythology, and the Orange Box games on the PC.

Both sound like good solutions, maybe even use them together?

I agree with Eskimo, as a prop in Kakariko you're essentially guaranteed to be found, and not everyone enjoys having to run around the whole round.

For the record I don't consider tryhard an insult, there's plenty of things I am a tryhard at.

I know, just putting in my two cents.

9mm, while I agree with plenty of things you're saying, I think you're overusing the "tryhard" term a bit. Killing every prop you find isn't necessarily being tryhard - it's playing the game the way it's meant to be played, something it seems people tend to forget. Sure I spend most of my rounds these days playing as soldier or heavy or some other class where I'm not really trying much, but there's nothing wrong with a person like Shooter or box or anyone else who just plays to kill props. The ranking system may affect it, and I think taking it away would change the game some, but at the end of the day you can still press Tab and look at the scoreboard, and there aren't many people who wouldn't get satisfaction from being at the top.
