I am a decent hale, and I still find it frustrating sometimes to get them down from those poles, especially as bosses who have high knockback, since one well placed shot forces you to wait till you can jump again. It isn't impossible getting them down, just difficult and sometimes irritating if there is more then one skilled sniper, since you can't just force a cap on them if there is more then 2.

A lot of players agree with you who are regulars on the VSH server, but I always feel bad watching a hale with 6000+ HP drop dead to 4-5 snipers because they weren't able to reach them. Thus the point of this discussion, who is supposed to have more power, the players, or the hale? I would like to see a balance, the hale should have a fair chance to kill all the players, not have half the team climb to near complete safety.

Saxton Hell / Sniper exploits discussion

I felt like I needed to address something that might be very irritating to a lot of hales, whether it be VSH or FF2. This issue is snipers (and certain other classes, if they are skilled enough) getting onto very narrow, high spots that are VERY difficult for a hale to get them down. A prime example is Manncohq, and all those light poles. On other servers the tops of the poles are worked so that the snipers can't stand on top of the ones on the right hand side by the players spawn, or they are kill boxes. The ones by the building are easy enough to jump up to, but the ones by spawn require a fully charged jump, and proper airstrafing skills to have a -chance- to hit the players. HHH has less issues due to his teleport, but other hales cannot teleport, and HHH is at a disadvantage because of his teleport and having a longish cooldown. He is forced to climb after snipers on top of the poles and risk being goomba'd 3+ times getting to where he can kill them if he doesn't want to wait for his teleport constantly.

Other maps have spots that are very similar to this, and the players on the server don't help the often inexperienced hales who don't know how to airstrafe and will often die frustrated since they have no choice but to watch their health slowly be picked off.

So what do you guys think? I want to say they aren't exploit spots, but they are unfair spots to hales, and I would like to see the boxes added so that players can't stand on them.

Things I liked: The application was professional, well worded, and easy to access. The questions required thought outside of just "insert generic I can do this and that" format, and will hopefully help to distinguish those who want the position, and those who want the prestige and the attention. I feel that with this form the admins you choose will be mature and responsible, and will be able to meet your demands.

Things I disliked: Some of the questions made it feel like you were being penalized for answering it a certain way, everyone has a personality, and that personality may not be extroverted and wanting to chat all the time, or being overly social. From a professional standpoint communication is important, but introverted individuals may not be inclined to be as chat ready. If these questions were designed to weed out people, then this is a mute point.

Just felt like sharing these things publicly.

Deathrun Hell / Pool Party exploits
« on: February 28, 2014, 02:57:45 pm »
After the fire extinguisher trap and before you enter the pool trap, people have figured out how to jump over the wall to get to hale's side and kill him or waste the round doing nothing. A kill ceiling would be nice there, that or removing the map, as of right now it is very unplayable.

Deathrun Hell / Re: trading in DR
« on: May 01, 2013, 04:49:07 pm »
I just wanna pitch in my two cents again, players on DR tend to be, upper class. They can often be seen rocking unusuals, stranges, vintages, and fully decked out characters, and often carry keys/metal. It is quite easy to get a good trade done on DR, since people often like to show off, but since time between rounds can take a while, it's always nice to take advantage of it and get a trade done if someone is interested in an item and has the materials to do it.

Unlike the trading server, where people are either trading low value items that people don't want/need, or such high value items that no one wants to buy.

General Discussion / Re: Filter Suggeston(s)

This has gone from filter suggestions to an argument about bronies. STAHP SHAME ON YOU ALL.

I actually like the filter in place, it leads to a good laugh when someone gets mad and starts cussing, instead of all the hatred being thrown from their mouth, a beautiful piece of censored magic appears. I approve of the filters and would love to see more :P

As for the argument about removing the filters, I do see the point, this is a rated M game, and hell servers could be considered rated X, however certain words just should not be said, such as gender/sexuality/race stereotypes and insults. A good FUCK YOU really isn't that much of a big deal to me, but calling me a faggot spawn of satan, that gets me irked a bit. Just saying.

Deathrun Hell / Re: Nerf Ullapool
« on: April 20, 2013, 02:48:27 am »
Castle: the building with the holes in the roof, can be used be ullapool demos to skip the following traps, such as at spawn where demos can jump on the block and then jump all the way past the spikes, and the following building where they can walk on the falling roof and jump on top of the fans that blow you down. They can also jump up on the third one to break the smashing blocks, so they will no longer move up or down. If they get stuck in the down position, it makes them unpassable unless you have the patience to walk on the ledge and not fall off.

Cocainum: There are lots of invisible walls that demos can ullapool on and run around, allowing them to skip platforming and guessing traps.

I just want to point out that micspamming happens outside of trading anyways, I reported someone to the forums for it before, but trading shouldn't be a huge deal.

Adding the !BP feature shouldn't be too hard, servers like DR have times where you die and have to wait for the rest of the round to do anything, so checking out someone's backpack and trading is something to do while they wait, and shouldn't be frowned upon. Spamming the chat and mic should be frowned upon, but not the trading itself. I don't know what we can do to prevent people from spamming, besides having a limit on number of times we can chat, there is already a 30 second on mic use.

The other issue I want to address is that trading on trading hell is about the worst thing ever. There are a lot of little kids, donators use it and their godmode ability to rank up stranges (I do this even) and some people are just in there to run around and kill people or micspam and not trade at all. Even worse some people only have low amounts of metal, so trying to sell high value items is a pain. Deathrun often has some loaded players, so trading on their might get your high value item sold faster.

Just thought I would share my two cents.

1. Ullapool the ground by the slightly heart shaped arch before the spinning trap at the corner.
2. Jump in before to break the minigame, jump in as the minigame is going to force a loss.

You actually can get out of there, unless there are 3-4 people in there, you simply crouch and crawl up towads the ramp and out towards the center, it might take awhile. Eventually you will hit a lip that will let you fall towards the hole, and continue with the map. It is a very annoying spot though.

Deathrun Hell / Engie/Sniper perk idea
« on: April 11, 2013, 02:07:33 am »
I have no idea if this is possible, but why not let engies with the jag/southern hospitality and snipers with the bushwacka get just one jump from the item then it breaks or cant jump them up again? Just an idea, seeing as they really don't have any perks to help them out.

General Discussion / Re: Possible donator adds
« on: April 11, 2013, 01:57:15 am »
New ideas

1. Not sure if this is entirely possible, but we can all mute a player, how about having an option to completely block out a players chat in game? (Doesn't have to be donator only, but can be used as an incentive to purchase it, seeing as players can be quite annoying spamming stuff)

2. Running stats for the FF, VSH, and DR servers, telling you how many wins you have as hale, how many times you got the killing shot on hale, how many times you have beat hale, how many times you have survived on DR, and how many times you physically won on DR, and top players statwise on the server.

3. Browser side raffle/donation option, so that we can donate rare/valuable items or put them up for a raffle, or even an auction within the saxton hale server or website. (This also doesn't have to be donator only)

4. Micro/Macro text (For shits and giggles, or practical use on the trading server)

5. Queue point bonus, in case we really want to be hale on a particular map or use a particular hale before the sets change, let donators have an option to raise their queue by 50 points once per map or an allotted time.

6. Private messaging between donators/regular players, so that you and someone in specific can exchange conversation without having other people but in, or having to add them to your friends list etc.

Thats all I got for now
