It's just a small^{[citation needed]} suggestion, but I'd like it if muting someone through the menu also disabled their text chat, sort of like client-side gagging. Generally, when I mute somebody, it means I don't want to hear them because they are annoying/retarded/both. Unfortunately, I still have to see their text chat, which is rather redundant when you think about it. I know there's a way to just disable textchat altogether, but I personally don't want to completely get rid of textchat in exchange for not hearing a single person.

Of course, I don't know if this is in already or if this is even possible, but I think it'd be something nice to consider.

Actually what I've discovered is that this feature is actually built into TF2. At least on our trade server it seems to work as advertised in the OP. Perhaps it's the same on our other servers? There shouldn't be any difference with regards to that.

After some more digging, it seems that TF2 will block the chat of a muted person who is alive. Our deadchat plugin seems to override that muting, so you'll always see the chat of a muted player who is dead. I'll try my luck at fixing that.

And this has now been implemented. Clientside muting a player will now block their deadchat.
