Hey guys! Please use this thread to suggest what kind of TF2 servers you'd like to see! We've got capacity for a few more servers and we want to make sure we run the servers that everyone would like to play.

Um, I know a lot of people never played on the surf server, but it'd be cool if that could come back maybe one day.

Games outside of TF2 are certainly possible, but we'd need to run something most people would be able to play.
As for our next server, it will most likely be Fort Wars.
I'll be setting up this server Soonish™.

as for pony hell....
you already have pony tails, and there are other servers... that... oh. you want the pony maps on one server along with any pony mods.
just don't bring those pony mods out of the pony hell server and i'll be fine with it.

How about just a normal server with rotational maps that we could nominate and vote on? Sometimes I wanna play normal CTF, KOTH, CP, PL, etc. maps instead of the current servers. I know Saxton Hell is supposed to be a different and unique group of servers, but why not try the original game modes?

to add onto the fortress hell, i was thinking it would be maps of all types (save medieval mode, reason why later on), not just the stock maps, but quite a few custom ones as well. this can even be added onto the "randomizer hell" suggestion. and because there will be the occasional person who wants medieval mode, make a medieval hell too, dedicated to that mode specifically.

TF2Ware has a habit of crashing servers on a pretty frequent basis, and having a bug that leads to infinite rounds. Other than that, it's a pretty fun gamemode (for the first few hours).

Aand The Hunted mode? (Basically like saxton hell, but everyone is going up against this ninja spy that cloaks for an infinite amount of time. He also has way less health than saxton I believe)
In certain cases it can be easy for the spy to win, but with a little teamwork the players can just camp in certain areas of the map.
Although this is a pretty rare mod, I've only played it a few times. In some cases you have to work to protect an engie with the intelligence while keeping the spy at bay until you reach the point.

yeah they got rid of tf2ware for fortwars not too long ago, and as fun as tf2ware is it gets boring after a short while, since there's only about 30 different minigames anyway.

Randomizer Hell?
Just saw a video of that. Seems hella fun. Sneak up on enemies while scout with a minigun. Hohoho.

I dunno if this would be possible, but is there any way to add the Wario-Ware mod into a new server or something like that? I just watched a video about it, and thought to myself, "Damn, that'd be awesome if Saxton Hell had one of these servers."
Would be fantastic, if it were added. If not, it's cool.

already had a tf2 ware server before

As Antie said, we did indeed run one before, but it was very crash happy and would sometimes encounter a bug where it would never get to the final minigame.

i did come across a rather amusing server based upon a SPUF thread about taking any TF2 weapon and multiplying it's stats by tenfold.
demoknights with (mostly) one hit kill shields and 425 HP, pyros with absurd amounts of speed and gunboats effectively turning any rocket launcher into a rocket jumper that deals damage.... it's all there, give a few alterations to make sure that classes don't just die with their weapons or can't shoot, etc. etc.
oh, and bonk + atomizer in such a server = legit 'almost noclip'* without need of sv_cheats 1 or even a lucky rtd
however, if this idea doesn't float the boat, you could always make it a part of the trade server :p

I vote we do this on my "Server where we can goof around with mods all day" idea.

I think a basic skill surf server would be pretty cool, with easy maps so that people can learn how to do it and get something different into their normal cycle of tf2, and as the community gains interest and skill level, then you can add harder maps to the mix.

Well, i highly doubt that it is possible, but on Youtube i saw a mod called Team Portress 2, where you had a portal gun as well as regular weapons. The group that made it posted the video like 1 - 2 years ago, but they never posted an IP for a server that runs it. That would be niffty to have Team Portress 2 if it were possible

We ran one before. It was a ghost town.
The biggest problem with Minecraft is just the amount of management required.
Either you have a private server limited to just the people we'd trust not to grief, or we make it public and have to deal with everyone's complaints that player X or Y destroyed/stole their stuff.
To solve this, you get into the realm of server plugins, and then that becomes an entire management mess on it's own.
Did I mention the incredible memory usage of the server?
In short, I don't think it'd be worth it.

'sup. I'm new here and stuff, but I can help with MC plugins and server administration, I ran a server for a fairly decent sized community, just a matter on how many would play it, and what you would like to do with the server.
Also yeah, hi and stuff, introduction forums would be nice as well.

Do people even play that? The plugin thread says only 2 servers are running it, and the recent posts are implying the plugin is broken.

Another trading server seems like a great choice. Especially since people who can't get in the other run to every other server to sell their crap.

I've got one, how about a x10 server? Every attribute that has a percentage boost on a weapon is multiplied by 10.
I've played on a server that has this plugin running and it is usually full, so why not add one for ourselves?
By the way, why is this thread not stickied?

We avoid pony bosses because the community is pretty split on the topic. Most people dislike them but then a vocal minority want them.

I second this. I spend a lot of time in Machine Hell as it is and I'd rather not have to go to another community's server just to kill some robots without waiting.
So yes or no on the x10 server?

The biggest problem about MVM servers is the fact they take up the same amount of bandwidth and such as the other servers we have but at only half the amount of people that can be on it.

There was one at one point, it got removed due to it's buginess, if I remember correctly.

HEY! I got ideas. Parkour Fortress. Jailbreak ( which I dont think Voidy likes it ). Slender Fortress. x10 wep stats. I want MVM! And ..... uhhh OH!. A basketball server. They even have one. And one is Medieval Attack/ Defend. And last one is Bomberman. http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mods . Look at the following suggestions i made with that link. I was away playing parkour and jailbreak. Im still gone for months playing those two mods. Hope you have a great time. ;D ( Note: I did not read the notes on this forums so few people must have suggest the ones I suggest.
