even if the damage was severely nerfed would it still not 2-shot props from far enough away?

It maxes at 75 without a crit or mini crit. I think 60 damage at long range/45 at close range is fair.

Pretty much the same can be said for Clifface, except while that map doesn't need as much work as cyber, it's win/loss for props/hunters is even more ridiculous, upwards of 80%.

Sawmill has upwards of an 80% win rate for props too and most people think the map is fine. While I do think Cliff Face needs some work, it's nowhere as bad a cyberpunk. Also, Cargo (arguably the most played map on this server), Range, and Otherside all have prop win rate of over 80%.

Surely if ranks are causing so much controversy, would it not be best to just leave them alone i.e. not have them at all? They really can't be worth this much fuss considering there are other servers with ranks as you've already pointed out. For instance S-OP, and GM have their own server, so surely if people like a specific type of rank system they can go to the respective server? Saxton Hell, despite being a great place, cannot please 100% of the players 100% of the time, similarly I'm not sure it can have more than one ranking system incorporated at the same time.

If we are divided over the issue in the forums, why not trial different rank system, maybe one week use GM, the next, S-OP etc. ( I know that would be a great ask on the admins) but from what I can see, a vote on the server seems to be the best way to decide whether to keep ranks, remove them, or change them. Personally I have no preference other than to resolve this issue in the fastest way possible so that everyone can get along and have fun playing PH again because at the end of the day ranks don't matter. (Unless you plan to put it on your CV ) :P

This. A vote sounds nice to me, although I'm not sure how many of the regulars who are gone now would come back even if the ranks were removed.

PS, is a CV similar to a resume?

How does that answer his question? You're accusing someone who, for a long time, has been one of, if not the best, regular player, of cheating - and without any evidence, I might add. I get that you don't like the guy but how does attacking as a person add to the debate?

On a more related note, I've specced Box many times as a scout and never noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Is there any way that the FoW as it were could be reduced or lifted, or maybe edited with more light sources? I'm not sure who owns the rights sorry :/

Yeah if you extract the map and open it in hammer there's an entity that controls it. IIRC it's TF_fog_controller or something similar. You can also do more light sources but it's easier to just change the color of the fog I think.

I'm slightly lost, are there rocket launchers which are already nerfed which are not nerfed enough or are these difference ones? Surely botkillers should be the same as the normal version thereof?

Short aswer: Yes. They are. And people are too bad to dodge.

Long answer: Apparently splash damage can stack multiple times on big props to multiply the damage, but I was under the impression that this didn't happen, especially since different sized player models don't take different amounts of damage when direct shot by a rocket. Also, people don't dodge because they're bad.

that can sometimes do <30 damage

Rocket damage is based on range. If you're close it'll do more. If you're far away I think the minimum for a direct hit is ~30.

rocket launchers can only 2 shot props that are big enough for the full splash damage to hit.
it's racket jamps are really bad too, so it's balanced

You can direct hit small props too.

Please nerf botkiller rocket launcher, minigun and whatever ones arnt nerfed cause toast and shake a like 2 shoting people

Unless there's new ones they already are. IIRC all rocket launchers can 2 shot people and miniguns can 3-4 shot at close range.

We don't control the stats system enough to make any changes like that. That's better suggested at GM.

I think he was suggesting to scrap the GM one and write your own. I'm fairly sure that's an out-of-the-question time investment, though, and I would suggest picking up the SourceOP "credit" system over what we have now. I think Drunken F00l released all of the SourceOP code as an open-source project after he got hired at Valve.

How about "Most Kills on Blue", "Most Kills on Red".

Give the non-admins access to the force team-switch commands and I'm all for this.

I agree with white and ninjaa, except that the dodgeball ranking system might encourage people to teamswitch onto blu to hunt and get more points, while on dodgeball it isn't a problem because both sides get to reflect.

Eliminate picking teams. People can try to switch but that makes it a little trickier.

the point is less clip size and more damage. Not less speed or anything like that, might as well play heavy or soldier.

Not that I play VSH all the often but the "less bullets more damage" thing is stupid; even if you hit every shot at any range it will still be lower DPS than the pistol after the first clip is done. The weapon's just balanced badly because the lower clip size takes away so much damage that it's just not a viable weapon.
