PropHunt Hell / Old Desolation?
« on: March 11, 2014, 07:03:06 pm »
I was wondering if desolation could be reverted back to it's older version (pb1 I think)? It appears to be a pretty common consensus that the newer version is not necessarily better for various reasons that have been mentioned closer to when it was updated. (bad lighting, adding a ridiculous amount useless stuff to the map). It went from a fun, simple yet well laid out map to essentially a tiny redstone that is never played.

what ever happened to working with what you're given?

I'm gonna stay neutral for now.

I also agree that prophunt needs a stronger admin presence. It feels like the number of times someone breaks the rules and needs to be dealt with each day is higher than it has been in the past few months. As Loc said, Roar isn't on all the time, so plenty of rule breaking goes unpunished.

PropHunt Hell / Re: Crusader's Crossbow Poll

Theres's no real purpose behind this suggestion other than being able to kill props with Hippocrates' face.
I know it doesn't add anything useful.

Adding the crusader's crossbow has got me wondering. Would it be possible to add the solemn vow by removing its ability to see enemy health?

PropHunt Hell / Re: Removing Kakariko
« on: April 20, 2013, 09:59:42 pm »
Personally I love the map. Yes it's big and the round times are very long, but there are reasons why many people, including myself like it. I used to really dislike kakariko until I realized that it is easily one of the funnest maps for rocket jumping and for running as a prop. Kakariko is probably one of the better maps for both of these playstyles even though it is a lot different than most prop hunt maps. As for the idea of clearing out servers I would have to disagree. Of course there are people who hate the map, but lots of people enjoy kakariko. It definitely doesnt have the server clearing ability that cyberpunk and medieval have.

As long as the bolts don't heal I have no problem with the Crusader's Crossbow being allowed. If it doesn't work out it can be removed.

PropHunt Hell / Re: Rank Removal

Personally, I am okay with keeping ranks. I do like how it tracks how many kills you have with different weapons. It can give people something to strive for, but I do agree that it can turn from a goal to an obsession for some. I think the most important part of playing prop hunt is making sure that I am playing because I'm having fun and want to, not for the sole purpose of ranking up. As long as I am enjoying myself, whatever rank ups happen are just the cherry on top.
I do have a concern about what will happen to the prop hunt hell community. I love being able to hop into a game and play with a bunch of fellow regulars. I'm worried that if ranks were removed it would cause many regulars to go their separate ways. prop hunt hell has been my main prop hunt server is because I love the community. I would hate it if a bunch of regulars never got back on and I rarely got to see them anymore.
Would I still play if ranks were removed? Yes, but I'm concerned about what the consequences of rank removal might be.

PropHunt Hell / Re: Solution for Exploding Binds.
« on: March 11, 2013, 04:42:31 pm »
Explode binds can be irritating, but i don't think they are a significant problem. They are frustrating to deal with because you lost an opportunity for a kill and a speed boost. Everyone knows that this is annoying. But, (for me at least) this happens so rarely that i can go weeks or months without ever seeing anyone doing this. The most common use of explode binds that I see is by players exploding for fun before the round begins. As box pointed out, on the occasions when props do suicide mid-round at least it's one prop closer to victory and they didnt put up a struggle. As of now I dont think this problem is big enough that it requires changes to be made, but I've got no problem with a solution like delayed suicides being implemented.

tl;dr annoying? yes. Changes needed? no/not yet
just my opinion on the topic
